WHY PARAGUAY?

Paraguay is a suitable place for permanent residence because:

• Paraguay is a country with territorial taxation of natural persons. There is no foreign income tax in Paraguay – this can be especially useful for cryptocurrency holders who frequently convert their crypto to fiat.
• Obtaining permanent residence in Paraguay is the easiest and cheapest process globally (about 2x more affordable than in Panama). Unlike Panama, you don’t need to set up a bank account or a local company. 
• Two 3-day visits to Paraguay are enough to obtain permanent residence, the second mandatory visit to the immigration office can also be completed by our lawyers who will receive a power of attorney (the first visit includes your background check and the start of the process, during the second visit you will collect your permanent residence card and apply for a Paraguayan citizenship ID card – the so-called cedula.)
• Paraguay is not on the list of countries blocked within the EU (like Panama); therefore, sending money from EU banks to Paraguay works without any problems.
• Paraguay is not a CRS (Common Reporting Standard) signatory state, therefore it does not report any financial and tax information of its residents abroad.
• Canceling your stay in the EU brings many benefits. It varies by country, but in many European countries this means, for example, no compulsory military service or no obligation to pay social and health insurance.
• In addition, two new continents will automatically become your new home – the EU, where you can stay indefinitely without any permits thanks to your EU citizenship, and South America, where you can also move freely without a passport thanks to your Paraguayan ID.
• Option to choose global international health insurance.
• In addition, administration of your companies settled in Europe is still possible (e.g. using “alternative authenticator for foreign residents” in the case of Slovakia.)

IS IT EASY FOR ME TO GET PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN PARAGUAY?

Obtaining permanent residency in Paraguay is probably the cheapest and easiest process. You must visit Paraguay twice a month for at least 3 working days. During the next month, you will then receive a Paraguayan national ID (the so-called cedula).

CAN YOU SUMMARIZE ALL THE DOCUMENTS I WILL NEED TO OBTAIN PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN PARAGUAY?

1. Birth certificate
2. Valid passport. We recommend having two passports if your home country allows it.
3. Extract from the criminal record from your home country and the country of your current residence (maximum 6 months old for all visits).
4. Proof of receiving a university degree (if you have one). Paraguayan permanent residence can be obtained without a university degree, but in this case you must prove to the Paraguayan immigration office that you have a balance in your bank account equivalent to USD 70,000 or deposit approximately USD 5,000 in the National Paraguayan Bank. You don’t need to prove any income for any European university degree (a bachelor’s is enough).
5. Marriage certificate (optional).

IS PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN PARAGUAY SUITABLE FOR TRAVELERS AND CRYPTOCURRENCY HOLDERS?

If you give up permanent and tax residence in your home country (in which case you should not spend more than 6 months a year there), with permanent residence in Paraguay you are not obliged as an individual to pay any taxes on your foreign income.

We recommend that you use your Paraguayan national ID and proof of address on all crypto exchanges. Any (not only) cryptocurrency income outside of Paraguay is tax exempt for the Paraguayan tax authority. So eternal travelers and cryptocurrency holders alike can appreciate this.
